BatGIRL

I have heard that little boys, having older sisters, can sometimes end up in dresses and other accessories!  Well...little girls with big brothers can sometimes be dressed as bat girl curled up in her bat cave!

Here is looking at you kid!

Feeding Ducks

In downtown Occoquan they have a great place to go feed the ducks.  It was one of the things that Jodie, Logan, and I would do while Dilon was at art class, but sometimes we would wait until he was done so that he could join us.  This being our last time feeding the ducks here, Logan wanted to wait until we could all do it together.  Nothing like brotherly love!

Rock Park

While Dilon is at art class, Jodie, Logan, and I have found some fun places to visit!

One of our favorites is Burke Lake Park or as Logan likes to call it "Rock Park" (there are lots of rocks around the playground).  He like climbing and playing around the rocks, and occasionally ventures over to the actual playground..  Many times he would make tents out of sticks and friends that he made at the park would play in the "bat cave". The park also has, during spring and summer, a train ride through the woods and a carousel.

On the left is a picture of Jodie on the playground.  It is huge, but this set of three slides is what she would go down the whole time we were there.  Sometimes, when we got Logan to join us, we all three could go at the same time.

To the right, is Jodie on the stone dolphin!

Art Class

Dilon and Ms. Peggy working on the cardinals.
Dilon began taking art class's with Ms. Peggy not long after we first moved to Virginia, when he was five years old.  He has loved it!  Dilon enjoys everything in the arts and has learned and developed his talent so much with Ms. Peggy over the last 2 1/2 years.  Most times his class included children his age, but occasionally he was one on one with Ms. Peggy, and at other times he was in a class of older ladies, they fussed over him!!

Displaying his beautiful work with Ms. Peggy.

Today was Dilon's last day in art class and he wanted to do something special for Ms. Peggy.  He came up with the idea to give her his last painting.  The cardinals was it!!  It is a beautiful picture!!  He felt so good to give her something that showed all the things that she had taught him over the past years!  He is such a sweet, thoughtful boy- Ms. Peggy loved it!

Willy Wonka Jr.

Our adorable Oompa Loompa with his candy bouquet!

A few weeks ago Dilon had his production of Willy Wonka Jr. It was amazing (in the words of Logan) and we had such a great time.  It was a lot of work and time, but so worth it!  We all enjoyed it and made so many friends. Dilon loved his time on stage!

Proud little brother!

Proud Grandmama!

Great-Grandmama made it too!

And the proudest ones of all, Mama and Daddy!

Roman Jewlery

One of the reasons I started blogging (all of my two posts) is to have a place to record all the fun activities, crafts, and places that we visit.  Well, today we made a fun and easy craft that went along with what Dilon has been learning in history- the Romans.

We made a Roman Coin Ring.

It was extremely easy, which I always go for, and I had all the supplies at home that I needed for it.  You take a pipe cleaner and put it through two of the holes on a button.  Then, cut and size the ring to the kids finger and next glue a coin of some type on the top of the button. Your're done and they have a fun ring to play with.

 They enjoyed themselves!

Jodie

One day a few weeks ago, my sweet baby girl opened up and spread a five pound bag of flour all over the kitchen floor!

One of those moments, in my life as a mother, where I have to compose myself, take a deep breath and pull out my camera. Probably encourages the messes that come, but they are moments I don't want to forget.  Plus, I now have proof when their little babies do the same thing to them!!
